Tasmanian Mountain Pepperberry (Tasmannia lanceolata)
This Australian native shrub in found throughout Tasmania and in cooler areas of Victoria and southern NSW. A pretty plant with red stems, long glossy leaves, white flowers and dark purple berries.
The leaf has an organic herbal peppery flavour.
Great on fish, seafood, steak, chicken, lamb. Add to sauces, salad dressing, dips, salt rubs.
Use to add a peppery nut flavour to breads, pastry, biscuits with cheese. Sprinkle a pinch of pepperberry leaf on eggs, tomato, avocado.
